Did You See a Hair-Loss Ad from Hims? You Might Not Have Been Told the Whole Story.

Telehealth companies like Hims are spending millions on slick social media ads promoting topical finasteride—a spray version of a popular hair-loss drug. But here’s what some of those ads may not say:

Topical finasteride is not approved by the FDA.
The FDA has now issued a warning about serious side effects, including:

  • Sexual dysfunction

  • Depression and suicidal thoughts

  • Brain fog, anxiety, and hormonal issues

These topical sprays are being marketed aggressively online, often with limited or no mention of potential risks. And while companies like Hims may claim to provide adequate disclosures, the FDA says many patients were misinformed—or not warned at all.

At The Block Firm, we’re investigating the use and marketing of unapproved topical finasteride sold by Hims and similar companies. If you used this product and experienced side effects, we want to hear from you.
